HR Manager

Quantium is a fast growing strategy consultancy headquartered in Sydney but with small offices in Brisbane and Melbourne. Our services are analytical and technically sophisticated and our staff are widely considered the best analysts and consultants, being drawn from actuarial and software/systems backgrounds and training. Additionally, we have a small but growing media planning business. We are now at the point of our growth that we need more focussed HR consideration across the strategy and processes we use within the business.
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to build and manage the overall HR function of the group. The role will need to manage both strategic and operational aspects of the HR function with a heavy focus on operations during the early build and grow phase.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Support the maintenance and further development of a positive, distinctive and high quality brand and workplace culture, including managing this culture in a high growth environment
- Provide assistance to the management team to drive behavioural change in the organisation and to embed a coaching framework within the business
- Define and co-ordinate a suitable L&D framework
- Refine and implement the appropriate and consistent process for team member evaluation, feedback and goal setting
- Recruitment and Selection, including developing/maintaining job description documentation
- Co-ordinate the design and dissemination of new employee inductions
- Develop, implement and monitor required policies and procedures
- HR contact for all staff issues
- Recommend other areas of consideration to ensure the organised and controlled growth in our resources maintaining the high quality ‘small business' culture we currently enjoy
Required skills and experience:
- A minimum of 7 years experience working in a HR management role with substantial experience working in a professional services firm environment
- Past exposure to change management and participation in the embedding of suitable coaching and learning and development frameworks would be beneficial
- Experience in dealing with team structure, role definition and recruitment, evaluation and development.
- Knowledge and experience of staff evaluation systems
- Demonstrated ability in the development and implementation of HR policies and programs to meet the needs of a dynamic and fast growing organisation
- Demonstrated ability to review and improve workplace practices
- An ability to proactively contribute towards the development and implementation of HR initiatives to meet the needs of the organisation
Ideal candidates will also have tertiary qualifications in HR, excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. You will also have the ability to prioritise and work on your own initiative and be comfortable in a matrix system.
